The position of Store Area Team Leader at OSJL is a pivotal role that ensures the smooth functioning of all operational and merchandising aspects within the store. This role involves managing merchandise flow, maintaining compliance with company standards, and leading a motivated, high-performing team. The Store Area Team Leader acts as a key support to the Store Team Leader, stepping in during absences and helping to achieve store revenue goals through effective leadership and operational excellence. This role demands a thorough understanding of merchandising principles, freight operations, and technology utilization to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction. Compensation for this role ranges from $24 to $26 per hour, with overtime eligibility at rates between $36 and $39 per hour. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of retail management experience or equivalent
  • proficiency in Google platform tools
  • experience with HCM and business intelligence tools preferred
  • ability to lead and motivate teams effectively

  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • willingness to travel as needed

Job Qualifications

  • 4+ years of previous retail management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • proficient in Google platform (Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets)
  • preferred experience with HCM and business intelligence tools

Job Duties

  • support company programs flawlessly to maximize revenue and achieve store goals
  • ensure the store runs smoothly in the absence of the Store Team Leader, demonstrating leadership capabilities
  • reconcile daily funds according to store closing procedures
  • lead and support an efficient freight flow process, maintain a well-organized backroom, and achieve a 24-hour freight turnaround
  • leverage technology to maximize scheduling effectiveness in managing freight
  • partner with the Store Team Leader to maintain optimal store inventory levels and proper merchandising
  • lead and support timely and accurate product placement on the sales floor in compliance with company standards
  • collaborate on merchandising strategies that drive sales and optimize inventory turnover
  • monitor, lead, and assist with freight flow to ensure efficient product receipt, processing, and stocking
  • coordinate the receiving team to ensure accurate receipt and inspection of merchandise
  • identify and address product shortages or overstocks
  • support recruitment, training, and development of store associates
  • identify and nurture high-potential associates for future growth
  • foster a stable and knowledgeable team environment
  • ensure the store exceeds company standards for merchandising, cleanliness, and presentation
  • lead by example in compliance with company policies and programs
  • cultivate positive working relationships with store leadership, associates, and field management
  • monitor and maintain exceptional customer service
  • maintain store cleanliness and visual standards
  • support HCM processes including associate data, timekeeping, benefits, and learning management systems
