The role of Shift Lead at R. Greenleaf Organics in Santa Fe, New Mexico, offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of Vireo Health’s daily retail operations. This full-time, non-exempt position pays an hourly rate starting at $17.00 with the potential to earn up to $22.13 per hour including tips. The Shift Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the dispensary, seamlessly blending operational tasks with exceptional customer service. While the Shift Lead is a non-supervisory role, it supports the Store Director and Assistant Manager to maintain a high standard of operational efficiency, policy compliance, and customer satisfaction.
The Shift Lead’s responsibilities are diverse and essential to the store’s success. Approximately 40% of the role centers on customer service, where the Shift Lead creates a welcoming atmosphere, assists customers by providing product knowledge and guidance, addresses concerns, and contributes to maintaining a clean, organized shopping environment. Around 25% of the role focuses on cash handling and transactions, including training staff on cash procedures, conducting daily reconciliations, collaborating with finance to manage cash flow efficiently, and performing routine cash audits. Inventory management occupies about 15% of the role, with the Shift Lead helping maintain product quality, organize stock for restocking, support sales strategies, and monitor supply chain performance to suggest improvements.
This position demands a candidate who is reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment, respecting the flexible scheduling that includes nights, weekends, and holidays between 8:00 am and 11:45 pm. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 25 lbs or more multiple times per day, and candidates must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of cannabis products, strong communication skills, and proficiency in cash handling are significant advantages. Additionally, the Shift Lead must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Food Handler License to ensure compliant and safe handling of cannabis products.
