The role being offered is a dynamic retail position primarily based at the front end and sales floor. The responsibilities include managing sales transactions, performing cash functions, assisting customers in product location and availability, stocking shelves, and maintaining overall store presentation. Employees are trained in the CHEF'STORE Way to ensure a consistent and high-level customer service experience. This training supports the development of skills necessary to maximize customer interactions and satisfaction. In the position, employees will handle product scanning, weighing, verifying purchases against cart contents, and maintaining cash registers, utilizing tools such as handheld scan guns and POS keypads effectively.

Beyond cashier and sales duties, the role also involves inventory management tasks such as receiving shipments, stocking shelves, rotating products according to FIFO standards, and participating in price updates and inventory cycle counts. Employees are expected to maintain clean and orderly sales floors and stock rooms while ensuring that products are labeled correctly with barcodes, catch weight labels, and PLU tags for produce. The role demands attention to detail in managing shrinkage prevention and ensuring product quality.

Customer courtesy is a vital aspect of the role, requiring employees to uphold store cleanliness in various areas including entryways, restrooms, and parking lots, to ensure safety standards are met. They are also responsible for gathering and organizing shopping carts to maintain a smooth shopping experience. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires interaction with both internal staff and external customers.

The work environment is retail store-based, involving exposure to variable temperatures and occasional inclement weather conditions, with a moderate noise level typical of a bustling retail store. Physical demands are high, with continuous standing, frequent walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, and other manual tasks required to support daily retail operations. This role may also be compensated for overtime work.
