The Front End and Sales Associate role at Chef'Store is essential in ensuring customers receive a seamless and welcoming shopping experience. This position requires a blend of customer service, sales operations, and merchandising skills, with a focus on maintaining store quality and safety standards. Employees in this role are responsible for all customer-facing interactions at the front end, including cash register operation, verifying purchases, and performing cart-to-cart product inspections. They also assist in stocking shelves, product rotation, and maintaining the sales floor's cleanliness and orderliness. The role demands physical capabilities such as standing and lifting packages of varied weight, frequent walking, and occasional tasks requiring balance and bending.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and or stocking experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Basic computer skills and cash handling proficiency
  • Ability to lift and carry weights frequently up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to stand continuously and walk frequently during shift
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring bending, reaching, twisting, and balance

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and or stocking experience
  • Preferred one year retail selling and or customer service experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Basic computer skills and cash handling experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently or within a team
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied schedules
  • Good common sense and basic mathematical aptitude

Job Duties

  • Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF'STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with customers
  • Perform sales and cash functions in the POS accurately and efficiently including scanning, weighing, and product lookup
  • Conduct cart-to-cart transfer of products at checkout including visual inspection
  • Verify cart content vs purchases as a receipt checker
  • Perform store opening and closing functions at the front end
  • Assist in receiving inventory, maintaining and stocking shelves with proper rotation
  • Ensure merchandise is properly labeled including tagging unscannable items and applying weight labels
  • Replenish sales floor daily by down stocking freight with FIFO compliance
  • Assist with price changes and participate in inventory cycle counting
  • Maintain store cleanliness and safety in sales floor, front end, restrooms, and parking lot
  • Gather and return carts ensuring they are clean and operable
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Store Management
  • Interact with employees at all levels and customers to provide excellent service
  • Use computer programs like Microsoft Word and Excel as needed
  • Follow safety policies and notify management about any safety issues
