The position offers a broad range of responsibilities, primarily focused on delivering excellent customer experiences at the front end and maintaining an organized and well-stocked sales floor. This role involves frequent physical activity, including frequent lifting ranging from 40 to 80 pounds, and working in temperature-varied environments such as freezers and coolers. Employees will be responsible for using point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately for sales and cashiering functions and conducting cart-to-cart transfers at checkout. Duties also include ensuring product quality, labeling accuracy, and stock rotation practices like FIFO (first in, first out). Other important tasks involve maintaining safety and cleanliness of the store and parking lot areas and supporting inventory and cycle counts.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 to 12 months of retail experience, especially in cashiering and stocking, with a preference for those who have a year or more in retail selling or customer service roles. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, adaptability, and the motivation to work independently as well as within a team. This role requires employees to be comfortable with basic computer skills, cash handling, and general office equipment. Working in this fast-paced retail environment means the candidate must be able to navigate a flexible schedule, including holiday and weekend shifts, and be capable of performing a variety of physical tasks such as standing continuously, lifting moderate to heavy weights occasionally, and managing repetitive movements like bending, twisting, and reaching.
This position does not entail supervision responsibilities but does require interaction with employees at all levels of the company and with customers and service providers externally. The working environment is typical of a retail store, with exposure to varying temperatures, moderate noise levels, and occasional outdoor weather conditions. Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 to 12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience required
- Minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
- Must be able to work a flexible hourly schedule including holidays and weekends
- Must possess basic computer skills and cash handling experience
- Ability to lift and carry 40 to 80 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to stand continuously and walk frequently during shifts
- Must be able to work in temperature-variable environments including freezers and coolers
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as bending, twisting, reaching, and occasional climbing or squatting

Job Duties
- Ensure all customers have an impeccable store experience by developing and maximizing relationships with customers
- Perform sales and cash functions efficiently and accurately in the POS system
- Conduct cart-to-cart transfer of products at checkout with visual inspection for product tampering
- Act as receipt checker verifying cart content versus purchases
- Perform store opening and closing functions at the front end
- Assist in receiving inventory shipments and stocking shelves orderly
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and store entry areas
- Gather carts from parking lot and corrals and ensure they are clean and operable
- Utilize computers and proprietary software for store operations
- Replenish sales floor daily following FIFO stocking principles
- Assist with price changes and participate in inventory and cycle counts as needed
