The CHEF'STORE Sales Associate role within US Foods offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic retail environment focused on food products and culinary equipment. This position allows individuals to engage with customers directly, assisting with a wide variety of tasks ranging from cashiering to stocking and customer service. The Sales Associate is expected to promote the company's core values and provide a welcoming shopping experience by offering knowledgeable assistance and maintaining the sales floor's organization and cleanliness. The role is versatile, involving collaboration across several store departments such as Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, and Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment. The position works under the guidance of store management and requires adaptability, as associates may be floated between departments based on business needs.

This is a part-time or full-time retail position with flexible scheduling, including availability on weekends and holidays from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The starting pay rate is competitive at $21.30 per hour, with the possibility of overtime compensation. The role is physically active, requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting of various weights, and cooperation within a team to ensure operational excellence. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience
Must be able to stand and walk continuously
Ability to lift and carry weights ranging from 1 to over 100 pounds occasionally
Ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, squat, bend, kneel, reach above shoulder, twist frequently
Must possess manual dexterity and ability to manipulate objects
Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule including holidays and weekends
Basic computer proficiency and cash handling skills
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to interact with customers and employees at all levels

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent work experience
Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience
Preferred minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience
Desire and ability to deliver exceptional customer service
Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently or within a team
Good common sense and logical thinking skills
Basic mathematical aptitude
Proficiency with computer skills and cash handling experience
Flexibility to work varied hourly schedules including holidays and weekends

Job Duties

Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF'STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with customers
Perform sales and cash functions in POS accurately and efficiently
Perform cart-to-cart transfer of products at checkout including visual inspection
Perform receipt checking to verify purchases
Perform store opening and closing functions at front end
Ensure continuous focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage
Assist in receiving and stocking inventory while maintaining product rotation and quality audits
Ensure merchandise is properly labeled and apply relevant product tags
Replenish sales floor stock daily following FIFO procedures
Utilize computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and proprietary software
Ensure products are accessible, visually appealing, and constantly available
Assist with price changes as directed
Participate in inventory and cycle counts
Ensure store environment is safe and clean, including sales floor, restrooms, and parking areas
Gather and maintain shopping carts to designated areas
Perform other duties as assigned by store management
