Job Description
We help YOU make it! Starting at a competitive rate of $21.30 per hour, this position offers a dynamic opportunity to be part of a leading retail store environment that prioritizes customer service and operational excellence. The scheduling flexibility accommodates work from Monday through Sunday within the time frame of 5:00 am to 7:00 pm, allowing for versatility based on business needs. This retail role is crafted for individuals who enjoy engaging with customers, handling merchandise, and are eager to contribute to the seamless operation of a busy store setting.
The role centers around the front end operations and sales floor duties, encompassing a wide range of essential functions to maintain an exceptional shopping experience. Employees are expected to actively foster relationships with customers, ensuring every interaction embodies the CHEF'STORE Way — a commitment to service excellence, accuracy, and efficiency. This includes operating the point of sale system for transactions, performing cash handling with precision, and overseeing receipt checks to guarantee every purchase aligns with customer carts. Additionally, the position demands precise handling and inspection of merchandise during the checkout process, as well as responsibilities in opening and closing the front end.
On the sales floor, the role emphasizes inventory management — from receiving and stocking shipments to maintaining neat and well-organized shelves. Down stocking from top stock involves applying first-in, first-out (FIFO) product rotation principles and utilizing equipment like reach trucks and pallet jacks to ensure that the sales floor is fully stocked with fresh, quality merchandise. The employee will play a key role in pricing updates and assist in inventory and cycle counts, all geared to support store management and optimize operations.
Customer courtesy and store maintenance are vital components of the position. The successful candidate ensures the facility remains safe, clean, and welcoming — from the sales floor to restrooms and parking areas. Cart retrieval, equipment cleanliness, and prompt identification and resolution of safety concerns underscore the priority this establishment places on customer and staff safety. Adaptability is important as employees may be assigned other responsibilities by store management as operational demands evolve.
This retail position demands physical readiness with the ability to stand and walk continuously, lift and carry goods ranging from light to heavy weights, and operate within varying temperature conditions. The work environment is busy and moderately noisy with regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, underscoring a need for stamina and physical dexterity. The job requires basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, complemented by hands-on experience in retail cash handling and customer service.
The company culture encourages continued learning, teamwork, and professional growth, all within a supportive, customer-driven environment that recognizes employee contribution and motivates excellence. Alongside a competitive hourly wage, the role includes potential overtime compensation and an array of employee benefits such as health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement plans, paid time off, disability coverage, employee stock purchase options, and life insurance. This offering reflects the organization's commitment to valuing and supporting their workforce comprehensively.
