The Retail Sales Associate at Chef'Store plays a vital role in maintaining the store's atmosphere of superior customer service aligned with US Foods’ strategic values. This position involves various responsibilities, including cashiering, stocking, and customer assistance across multiple departments such as Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply. Associates will work closely with management to ensure products are appropriately stocked, rotated, and labeled following first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles. The role requires a versatile individual who can adapt to shifting business needs, assist in special store events like vendor fairs and inventory processes, and uphold the cleanliness and safety standards throughout the store.
A Retail Sales Associate’s main focus is creating a positive shopping experience by establishing strong customer relationships and applying the Chef'Store Way training principles. Efficient and accurate handling of front-end sales processes such as scanning merchandise, weighing products, and verifying purchases is crucial. Associates must also engage in activities to prevent shrinkage, including visual inspections and receipt checking. Physical demands are significant in this role, requiring continuous standing and walking, lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds frequently, and occasional climbing and kneeling. Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, is beneficial.

Job Requirements

- minimum one year of retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred

Job Qualifications
- minimum 6-12 months of retail cashier and/or stocking experience required

Job Duties
- ensure all customers have an impeccable chef'store experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers
- utilize all tools and skills learned in the chef'store way training and model the behavior in the store
- perform sales and cash functions in the pos efficiently and accurately including scanning merchandise and weighing products
- perform cart-to-cart transfer of all products at checkout including visual inspection for product tampering
- manage sales floor and stock shelves maintaining product rotation and quality audits
- assist in receiving inventory shipments and replenishing stock ensuring merchandise is properly labeled
- maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility including parking lot and store entry area
