This role is centered around delivering an impeccable customer experience at the front end of the store, supporting sales floor activities, and ensuring store safety and cleanliness. Starting at $21.30 per hour, this position offers the flexibility to work Monday through Sunday, with shifts scheduled based on business needs between 5:00 AM and 7:00 PM. It is ideal for individuals seeking a full or part-time position in retail with a focus on customer service and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of duties, from performing sales and cash transactions to stocking shelves and assisting with inventory management. They will embody the CHEF'STORE Way by building strong relationships with customers and applying training principles consistently to foster a welcoming and efficient store environment. The role requires familiarity with point-of-sale systems, inventory handling, and store merchandising standards.
Attention to detail is critical as the candidate will verify product barcodes, perform receipt checks, and ensure proper product labeling and rotation to maintain quality and compliance. Additionally, supporting the organization with store opening and closing duties will be part of the daily responsibilities.
The environment is a busy retail store open to the public, with exposure to various temperature conditions and the need for physical activity including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods. The role demands a proactive approach to safety and cleanliness, ensuring all areas, including restrooms and parking lots, are maintained to high standards.
Candidates should possess at least 6 to 12 months of retail cashier or stocking experience, with preference given to those having over a year of retail or customer service experience. Basic computer skills, cash handling proficiency, and the ability to work a flexible hourly schedule including weekends and holidays are essential.
This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a drive to deliver fast, efficient, and professional customer service. The physical qualifications include the ability to lift from light to heavy weights frequently, operate forklifts or pallet jacks, and perform repetitive physical tasks like bending, squatting, and climbing.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience required
- Ability to stand continuously and walk continuously during shift
- Ability to lift and carry items ranging from 1-100 lbs frequently
- Ability to perform tasks such as pushing/pulling, stooping, squatting, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, twisting frequently
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with cash handling required
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must be motivated and self-driven
- Must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience
- Minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
- Must possess basic computer skills and cash handling experience
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or in a team
- Good common sense and basic mathematical aptitude
- Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule including holidays and weekends
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
Job Duties
- Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF'STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers
- Perform sales and cash functions in the POS in an efficient and accurate manner
- Perform cart-to-cart transfer of all products at checkout, including a visual inspection for product tampering
- Perform duties as receipt checker verifying cart content versus purchases as customers leave the store
- Perform store opening and/or closing functions at the front end based on assigned shift
- Work with customers to ensure they find the products they need and inform them of services available
- Assist in receiving inventory shipments and stocking shelves with proper rotation and quality audits
- Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled including blaster tagging, applying catch weight labels, and affixing PLU tags
- Replenish sales floor daily with product stocked in FIFO order using reach trucks and pallet jacks
- Utilize computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and proprietary software as needed
- Maintain product accessibility, visual appeal, and availability
- Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management
- Participate in opening and closing store duties
- Participate in inventory and cycle count processes as needed
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety policies and reporting or correcting safety issues
- Ensure cleanliness of the sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and store entry area
- Gather and maintain clean and operable carts from parking areas
- Perform other duties as assigned by Store Management
