The company is currently seeking a Retail Pricing & Sales Analyst, a full-time, in-office position based in Portland, OR. Offering an annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience, this role is essential in driving the pricing strategy and sales analytics for their retail grocery customer base. In this critical role, the analyst will replace unsystematic, rep-level pricing decisions with a structured, data-driven approach that optimizes profitability and market competitiveness.

The Retail Pricing & Sales Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining pricing models that ensure consistency and competitive positioning across all retail accounts. By analyzing sales data, this role identifies margin improvement opportunities, tracks unit growth potential, and observes item penetration trends that can inform strategic decisions. Close collaboration with sales and procurement leadership is a key element of this position to align pricing efforts with sourcing realities and company priorities. Moreover, the analyst will serve as a trusted expert on sales performance trends, customer-specific pricing behavior, and the overall retail pricing strategy.

The position demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the specialist to translate complex analytical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Supporting sales representatives in executing pricing strategies and coaching them through change management is another vital responsibility. The analyst will also spearhead the adoption of analytical tools and reporting systems that streamline decision-making while minimizing administrative workload for the sales team.

Monitoring competitive pricing trends in the market and preparing proactive recommendations further ensures the company's pricing remains advantageous. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pricing, sales analytics, or related role within retail grocery industry
  • Proficiency in Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with sales reps and leadership
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a pricing, sales analytics, or related role, ideally within the retail grocery industry
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, with strong understanding of intricate formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills able to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and directly with field sales reps and senior leadership
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain pricing models to ensure competitive, profitable, and consistent pricing across all retail accounts
  • Analyze sales data to identify margin improvement opportunities, unit growth potential, and item penetration trends
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Procurement leadership to align pricing with sourcing realities and strategic priorities
  • Serve as the go-to expert on sales performance trends, customer-specific pricing behavior, and overall retail pricing strategy
  • Work directly with sales reps to support execution of pricing strategies and coach them through pricing-related change management
  • Drive adoption of tools and reports that enable smarter decision-making and reduce administrative burden on the sales team
  • Track competitive pricing trends in the market and provide proactive recommendations
  • Support leadership with ad hoc reporting and long-term forecasting projects
  • Other duties as assigned
