The role of an Event Coordinator at the Michaels store in Pitt-North Hills, PA, is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about creativity, customer service, and event planning. This position involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating various in-store events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes. The Event Coordinator is responsible for creating a fun, stress-free, and engaging atmosphere for guests of all ages, from young children to seniors.

In this role, the coordinator will greet and assist customers, helping them locate products and providing friendly shopping support. They will handle checkout processes efficiently, promote the store's Rewards program and private label credit cards, and support omni-channel sales initiatives such as Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). Operational duties include merchandise stocking, truck unloading, and maintaining store cleanliness and recovery standards to uphold the Michaels brand promises.

The Event Coordinator will plan multiple simultaneous events, demonstrating craft techniques, managing party add-ons like goody bags and balloons, and ensuring client satisfaction through excellent communication and adaptability. Administrative responsibilities include managing correspondence, making phone calls, and adjusting event plans based on client feedback. The coordinator must also uphold company safety and cleanliness standards, setting up and breaking down event spaces effectively.

Applicants should possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication. Experience working with children and managing children’s events is essential, as is retail or customer service experience. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for long periods, move around the store, and perform tasks such as lifting, reaching, and climbing ladders.

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's birthday parties and craft classes
