Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Irving, Texas, Michaels has built its reputation as the best place for all things creative, offering a wide range of arts and crafts supplies, custom framing services, and inspirational creative experiences for millions of customers. Michaels also owns Artistree, a manufacturer of custom and specialty framing merchandise, further enhancing the company’s product offerings and commitment to quality and creativity. The company prides itself on fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for both its customers and team members, prioritizing wellbeing through comprehensive benefits and a robust culture of collaboration and innovation.
This part-time Event Coordinator position at Michaels store WOR-LEOMINSTER, MA, plays a vital role in delivering a fun and engaging experience for guests by planning, coordinating, and facilitating various events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. The role demands an energetic and enthusiastic personality, excellent people skills, and the ability to interact effectively with guests of all ages, from young children to seniors. The coordinator will be responsible for creating an environment that promotes creativity and enjoyment, from crafting projects to face painting and party add-ons like goody bags and balloons. Key responsibilities include not only event execution but also administrative tasks such as communicating with clients and store team members, managing feedback, adjusting plans accordingly, and developing backup plans to ensure smooth event delivery.
In addition to event coordination, this role includes providing exceptional customer service to store shoppers by assisting them in locating products, offering shopping solutions, and facilitating a fast and friendly checkout experience. The Event Coordinator will also support various operational duties such as truck unloading, stocking, and merchandise recovery to maintain the store’s high standards and compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
This position requires stamina to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods and perform tasks that involve bending, lifting heavy boxes, and working with equipment like ladders. The environment is primarily climate-controlled, with some stockrooms not climate-controlled, and occasional outdoor work when retrieving carts or unloading trucks. Work hours vary and include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
Michaels is committed to inclusivity and offers reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities. The company emphasizes a positive and respectful work culture and encourages team members to promote the organization’s vision and values. Employment compliance with federal, state, and local regulations is mandatory. Compensation for this position ranges from $15.00 to $17.70 per hour, reflecting Michaels’ investment in skilled, dedicated team members. Benefits for both full-time and part-time roles include health insurance options, paid time off, tuition assistance, employee discounts, and more, contributing to a supportive workplace where creativity and celebration thrive together.
