The Retail Team Lead role at Office Depot is a part-time position that plays a critical part in delivering total solutions to customers. This position requires strong customer relationship skills as the Team Lead becomes a trusted advisor knowledgeable about the entire suite of offerings, including technology products, furniture, print services, and more. Utilizing training and a customer-centric approach, the Retail Team Lead actively engages customers to identify their needs and provides tailored solutions that drive sales and ensure satisfaction.

Beyond customer engagement, the Retail Team Lead also supports operational excellence. Responsibilities include enhancing the store's visual merchandising, managing freight and logistics activities, and maintaining high productivity within the Print Services area by operating equipment and assisting associates. This role promotes a vibrant sales culture and supports community initiatives to bolster customer retention. Additionally, the Retail Team Lead will serve as a part-time Key Carrier with duties that encompass opening and closing the store safely, ensuring loss prevention protocols are followed, and occasionally performing Leader on Duty functions.

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years related experience in sales or customer service preferred
  • Basic computer skills including ability to use POS systems
  • Advanced selling skills and strong customer focus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Job Duties

  • Support print sales and services by operating and assisting with print equipment
  • Process merchandise accurately while adhering to visual merchandising standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and inefficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and loss prevention efforts
  • Drive client satisfaction through coaching and training associates
  • Support community outreach initiatives to increase customer retention
  • Perform opening and closing responsibilities as part of External Key Carrier duties
