Job Description

The Michaels Companies Inc. is a leading specialty retailer in North America, dedicated to fueling the joy of creativity and celebration. Established in 1973 and headquartered in Irving, Texas, Michaels operates over 1,300 stores across 49 states and Canada, as well as online platforms Michaels.com and Michaels.ca. Michaels is recognized as the premier destination for all things creative, serving millions of customers with an extensive variety of art supplies, framing services, floral decor, home accents, and seasonal merchandise. With a commitment to inspiring creativity and supporting the artistic community, Michaels also owns Artistree, a manufacturer of custom and specialty framing merchandise, reinforcing its market leadership in creative products and services.

Michaels is currently seeking dedicated and friendly Store Associates for its Arlington and North Texas locations. This role is integral to delivering an exceptional customer experience by helping customers shop, locate products, and providing solutions tailored to their creative needs. As a Store Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience while upholding the highest standards of customer service. Your duties will include truck unloading, stocking, merchandising, and maintaining store recovery standards, all essential to delivering Michaels’ brand promises of quality and customer satisfaction.

This position requires a positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork and company values. The Associate will engage customers in the benefits of loyalty programs, including the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, as well as assist with surveys and Omni channel processes like Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). Physical stamina is important, as this role involves standing for extended periods, lifting heavy boxes, and performing tasks that require bending, stretching, and using ladders for high shelf access.

Michaels provides a supportive work environment featuring climate-controlled public retail spaces and a team culture that values respect, inclusivity, and dedication. The company offers comprehensive training that includes cross-training in custom framing selling and production. The Store Associate plays a vital role in supporting safety and shrink prevention programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Employment at Michaels offers a wide range of benefits, including access to a 401(k) with employer match, medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, adoption assistance, and employee discounts. Additionally, flexible work schedules, including nights, weekends, and early mornings, are part of this position. Michaels is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusion and accommodation for all qualified individuals, fostering a workplace where creativity thrives and team members grow both personally and professionally.
