Job Requirements
- must be at least 18 years old
- three or more years of retail leadership or customer service experience
- full-time availability including evenings weekends and holidays
- proficiency in computer applications
- strong communication skills
- ability to maintain composure under pressure
- strong organizational and detail orientation
- ability to supervise and develop a team
- able to stand walk climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- able to work in a pet environment with exposure to animals and mechanical parts
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment
- full-time availability with flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays
- proficiency in computer applications
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- strong organizational skills with attention to detail especially in store layout maintenance
- supervisory experience with responsibility for up to three lead associates and forty non-leader associates
- ability to make employment decisions and develop associates
Job Duties
- participates in recruiting interviewing and coaching associates
- facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development including training onboarding reviews labor management mentoring succession planning and accountability coaching
- addresses and administers associate complaints and grievances
- prioritizes delegates and validates daily tasks to meet business and pet parent needs
- leads and coaches associates on operational processes to ensure pet safety and health
- coordinates staffing coverage for key store areas such as pet care maintenance hotel cleaning and salon cleaning
- validates completion of operational messages and engagement video compliance
- communicates company information and priorities to associates to ensure alignment
- recognizes and celebrates associate engagement
- oversees healthcare of store-owned pets including feeding watering cleaning and care for sick pets
- manages inventory accuracy receiving stocking product rotations and planogram sets
- evaluates operations looking for continuous improvement opportunities
- maintains vendor relationships backroom standards and communication boards
- oversees Buy Online Pick Up In Store and Ship From Store programs
- identifies and reacts to sales trends through analysis and merchandising
- makes merchandising decisions regarding space and discontinued items
- maintains store cleanliness and compliance with policies and ethical standards
- ensures a safe environment for associates pets and customers
- reports sick or injured pets immediately
- shares opening and closing store responsibilities responding to pet parent concerns
- drives business growth and holds associates accountable for sales and shrink goals
- analyzes inventory reports identifying trends opportunities and root causes
- manages expenses including labor supplies and other store metrics
- collaborates with Home Office partners for work orders and purchase card allocations
