The Retail Operations Lead position at PetSmart plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence in store environments while supporting the company’s mission and values. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a keen eye for detail, especially with store presentation and inventory accuracy. The Retail Operations Lead ensures that all pet care commitments are met, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring the health of pets in the store, along with adherence to safety and company policies. This full-time position offers flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and compensation is based on experience and location, always meeting or exceeding local minimum wage laws. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment
- full-time availability with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- proficiency in computer applications

Job Duties
- support and guide sales associates in merchandise handling, providing training on product knowledge and presentation standards
- facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development including onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and providing feedback
- delegate and validate completion of daily tasks
- leads and directs associates when acting as the leader on duty
- address and administer associate complaints and grievances
- recognizes and celebrates associates to drive engagement
- execute merchandise strategies including product receiving, placement, and promotional setups
- manage inventory levels and conduct audits
- assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and address discrepancies
- operate POS systems and handle cash transactions accurately
- maintain store standards and ensure compliance with company policies and ethics
- share responsibility for store opening and closing procedures
- complete monthly live cycle counts and resolve discrepancies
- ensure pet care maintenance and standards
- support positive experience for pet parents including online order fulfillment
- maintain safety and health of pets, taking immediate action for sick or injured pets
- follow company policies for new pet arrivals and quarantine
- ensure pets are healthy before moving to sales floor
