The Sodexo Campus Segment is currently seeking a talented and motivated Retail Manager 3 to join their dynamic team at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. This position focuses on overseeing the largest and busiest retail dining establishments on campus, where multiple branded concepts coexist. The Retail Manager 3 will ensure that these dining outlets consistently uphold Sodexo's and each brand's standards regarding food quality, service, and operational efficiency. Serving as a visible leader on campus, the manager will inspire and develop team members, drive operational results, and create a positive dining environment that meets the needs of students, staff, and visitors.

This role demands someone who can balance strategic leadership with hands-on management. The Retail Manager 3 will collaborate closely with University Housing and Dining Services (UHDS) leadership, campus stakeholders, and Sodexo's internal support teams to enhance the campus retail dining program. Responsibilities include managing financial targets through labor and food cost controls, implementing process innovations that boost efficiency and satisfaction, and supporting menu development and merchandising efforts. Additionally, ensuring seamless coordination with residential dining and catering operations across campus is a critical component of the role.

Job Requirements

  • 2 years of management experience
  • 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations

Job Duties

  • lead day-to-day operations across multiple high-volume retail dining locations
  • ensure strong brand compliance, high-quality food execution, and exceptional guest service
  • recruit, train, schedule, and mentor a diverse hourly team
  • monitor labor, inventory, and food cost controls to achieve financial targets
  • maintain sodexo’s quality, safety, and operational standards across all units
  • collaborate with uhds and campus leadership on engagement initiatives, promotions, and programming
  • implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and customer satisfaction
  • support merchandising, menu innovation, and ongoing partnerships with brand representatives
  • work closely with residential dining and catering teams to ensure seamless campus-wide coordination
  • maintain a visible, guest-facing presence to ensure a welcoming and responsive environment
