As a Store Manager Trainee at ALDI, you will embark on an exciting career path designed to cultivate your leadership skills and retail management expertise. This full-time position expects an average of 45 hours per week and offers a competitive starting wage of $31.75 per hour, with the potential to earn up to $104,500 in the first year inclusive of salary and applicable bonuses. This role provides comprehensive training and mentorship from experienced leadership to prepare you to independently manage your own store. You will be integral in fostering a positive and productive work environment, leading your team to exceed customer expectations, and driving store sales growth while maintaining operational standards.

The Store Manager Trainee position at ALDI is more than just a stepping stone; it is a dynamic role where you will develop vital skills such as team leadership, strategic problem-solving, efficient scheduling, and adherence to safety and compliance regulations. Your core responsibilities will include driving employee engagement, coaching and developing store personnel, managing inventory and cash handling, and ensuring a clean and well-maintained store environment. Job Requirements

At least 18 years old
high school diploma or equivalent preferred
prior experience in a retail environment and prior management experience
full-time store manager trainees must train at multiple locations with flexibility to travel within divisional requirements
ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
physical ability to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move
ability to lift up to 45 pounds products
able to operate equipment such as electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubber, cardboard baler
able to work in varying temperatures including outdoors and refrigerators/freezers
employment contingent upon acceptable drug test, motor vehicle report and reference check as applicable and permissible by law

Job Duties

Communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports to ensure desired results
leads and develops store personnel
develops and implements action plans using company provided resources to improve operating results
oversees the appropriate resolution of employee and customer concerns, aligning with the district manager as needed
interviews candidates for store positions and provides recommendations to the district manager
manages personnel, including recommending personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate
communicates, cooperates, and interacts effectively with all levels of ALDI personnel, customers, third-party vendors and business partners
collaborates in the resolution of any issues that arise within the store to minimize potential liability for the division and the company
leads, develops, and supervises the team to develop sales, engage teams, satisfy customers and achieve consistent high performance
understands and oversees the execution of company strategy while communicating and modeling core values
fosters a positive and collaborative working environment and promotes teamwork
oversees and manages compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state and local regulations
trains and develops store personnel to achieve their maximum professional potential
observes and evaluates employees’ work performance and provides feedback and coaching
ensures store personnel comply with customer service guidelines and demonstrate appropriate interactions
resolves concerns from store personnel and customers independently or escalates to district manager
models, communicates and supervises compliance with company policies and procedures
ensures a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, promoting proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment
prepares, manages and revises weekly schedules to ensure accuracy
ensures store personnel adhere to expense, inventory, product handling, and cash handling policies to minimize losses
ensures store personnel maintain store zone standards and merchandising standards at all times
acts to improve operational results and implements personnel and operational plans to achieve store KPI goals and budgets
attends and participates in meetings such as district weekly operations calls, monthly one-to-ones and training sessions
plans and conducts meetings such as store team meetings, monthly management team meetings, training sessions, and other company events
