Job Description
The hiring establishment is a well-established retail company operating in the cannabis industry, dedicated to providing customers with quality products and an outstanding retail experience. Employment in this role is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and requires possession of the necessary Marijuana Establishment Agent Card and jurisdictional work cards. There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position, making it ideal for individuals who excel in a supportive and operational role without managerial duties.
The Retail Host position plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the retail location by providing outstanding customer service and assisting with inventory management and data entry. This role involves helping customers make informed purchasing decisions by leveraging extensive product knowledge while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The Retail Host is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment of customer purchases, including managing curbside pickup orders and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
This role requires working closely with the Dispensary Management Team to assist with various activities that enhance operational efficiency. Duties include proper use and maintenance of the Point of Sale (POS) system, proper cash handling, and following discount or coupon procedures. The Retail Host is also responsible for maintaining accurate inventory counts, assisting with product intake following quality assurance protocols, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and inventory areas. The position demands effective communication skills to maintain open communication with management and coworkers and to promptly report employee issues or customer concerns.
The ideal candidate must be adaptable and willing to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including the ability to cover vacant shifts or handle emergency situations. The ability to understand and comply with complex legal regulations and company guidelines is essential for maintaining compliance and safety standards in a highly regulated industry. Additionally, strong computer skills, particularly with Windows-based software and point of sale applications, are required.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess Marijuana Establishment Agent Card and jurisdictional work cards as required
- Must pass all required background checks
- Must comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
- Ability to operate under company policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand and complete directives timely
- Flexible work schedule including shift coverage and emergencies
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds
- Must tolerate exposure to marijuana odors and products
Job Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Proficient in Windows-based software and point of sale applications

Job Duties
- Help retail customers with product knowledge and assistance in line with company mission and goals
- Complete assigned work tasks during scheduled shifts
- Accurately use and maintain Point of Sale (POS) system
- Follow cash handling procedures including discount and coupon application
- Answer phone calls and greet customers pleasantly
- Maintain accurate inventory records and product sales data
- Assist with cannabis product inventory intake following quality assurance protocols
- Prepare, package and deliver curbside pickup orders
- Verify identity of curbside pickup customers
- Ensure correct money remittance before purchase exchange
- Complete curbside pickup transactions upon return to retail facility
- Maintain medical patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations
- Comply with all security and safety procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales and inventory areas
- Communicate openly with management and coworkers
- Report employee or customer issues to supervisory staff
- Provide support to management for daily retail operations
- Ensure customer satisfaction following company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
