Job Description

The hiring company is a licensed cannabis retail establishment operating within the regulated marijuana industry, providing customers with high-quality cannabis products and knowledgeable customer service. This retail company is committed to compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety protocols, ensuring a secure and well-organized environment for both customers and staff. With a focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction, the company maintains rigorous standards for inventory management, transactional accuracy, and product intake while supporting a diverse team working within a fast-paced and dynamic retail setting.

The position available is for a Retail Host, reporting directly to the General Manager, and operating under the Retail department. This is a non-exempt, hourly role that requires active Marijuana Establishment Agent Card and jurisdictional work cards as required by law. The role does not include supervisory responsibilities, focusing instead on frontline retail operations and customer service excellence.

In the Retail Host role, the employee will be responsible for supporting the overall operations of the retail dispensary by providing exceptional customer service, guiding customers through product selections with expert knowledge, and ensuring all sales transactions comply with company policies and legal standards. The Retail Host will utilize point of sale (POS) systems to manage sales, cash handling, and coupon applications accurately while assisting with inventory intake and maintaining up-to-date records on product counts.

The Retail Host escorts customers through the purchasing process, ensuring compliance with verification of identification and transaction procedures, particularly in curbside pickup orders. Maintaining patient confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA regulations, and strictly following security and safety protocols are vital aspects of the role. Duties also include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, inventory storage, and handling any customer or employee concerns by communicating effectively with the management team.

This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility to cover shifts or manage emergency situations as needed. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Windows-based software, have strong communication skills, and the ability to interpret and apply complex laws and internal policies governing the cannabis industry. Physical stamina is necessary as the role involves standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and tolerating cannabis odors.

Overall, this role is critical in ensuring that the retail cannabis facility operates smoothly, providing customers with a knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient shopping experience while meeting all regulatory and operational standards. Applicants should be prepared for a dynamic work environment with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and operational support.
