The role of Retail General Manager at WeTheHobby is a key leadership position responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the flagship sports card hobby shop/lounge located at the beautiful new headquarters in Rochester. This full-time, onsite position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 annually, reflecting the experience and expertise required to manage and grow the retail store effectively. Reporting directly to the Chief New Business Officer, the Retail General Manager will be tasked with ensuring exceptional daily operations, driving revenue, managing a dynamic retail team, and delivering outstanding customer experiences that align with the company’s brand values.

This role demands a seasoned professional with at least five years of retail management experience, preferably in specialty retail or the sports collectibles sector. The ideal candidate will be adept at overseeing store operations from opening to closing, implementing best practices to maximize store performance and profitability. Key responsibilities include managing inventory, merchandising, sales analysis, and team scheduling. The General Manager will also play a critical role in cultivating a customer-first environment by leading by example, resolving escalated issues, and driving innovative promotional strategies and loyalty programs. Collaborating closely with marketing and events teams, this leader will help design memorable in-store events, private viewings, and product launches that elevate customer engagement.
