The Food Service Worker position at Aramark involves assisting managers with meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts, and managing meal records. This role demands high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. The hiring is for two distinct locations: NCCU Central Market and Subway, with varying shifts including full-time and part-time positions. At NCCU Central Market, openings include three part-time and one full-time positions with shifts spanning from 11 am to after midnight, including weekend work. Subway positions are primarily morning shifts from 9 am to 6 pm. The Food Service Worker will be responsible for preparing food and baked goods according to planned menus, ensuring food is stored properly, maintaining cleanliness, coordinating major cleanings, and adhering to food safety and uniform policies.
This role requires coordination with the Manager to ensure accurate preparation of daily menus, adherence to food temperature standards, and maintaining organized work environments. It involves physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, and may require the use of personal protective equipment and uniforms. The Food Service Worker is integral in delivering a positive customer experience by preparing appetizing and safe meals, following strict sanitation standards, and supporting overall kitchen operations. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
- Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
- Use of personal protective equipment and uniforms as required
