Job Requirements

  • Four or more years retail management experience with progressively more responsibility
  • Ability to manage multi-unit operations with full profit and loss responsibility
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current driver's license with acceptable driving history
  • Willingness to travel weekly with limited overnight stays
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Financial management and analytical skills required

  • Financial analysis skills to interpret operating statements and manage budgets
  • Ability to leverage resources, maintain expense control and manage merchandise effectively

  • Ability to provide superior customer service and apply good judgment
  • Effective collaboration skills in a participative management style
  • Four or more years of retail management experience including multi-unit operations
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Big-box retail management or equivalent education and experience considered

Job Duties

  • Lead store teams by ensuring a culture that fosters Dollar General's mission and values
  • Fair administration of human resources policies practices
  • Provide superior customer service through fun, friendly stores
  • Achieve area annual sales growth that meets or exceeds company targets through quality orders and efficient flow processes
  • Ensure all tools are effectively utilized in each store and market resulting in superior inventory presentation and management
  • Plan and execute company objectives effectively
  • Maximize performance productivity through sensible store scheduling
  • Develop human capital through proactive recruitment, selection and education of employees and customers
  • Protect company assets through loss prevention and expense efficiencies
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within operational area
  • Communicate divisional and regional priorities consistently and effectively to store teams
