The HomeGoods Store 0098 in Hadley, MA, is currently seeking a full-time team member with a starting pay range of $17.25 to $17.75 per hour. This role is designed for individuals eager to grow their career within the retail sector, with a strong focus on merchandising, receiving, and team collaboration. The position involves executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively, and fostering a cohesive team environment. The team member plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experiences by engaging customers, maintaining store cleanliness, and supporting the overall merchandising strategy.

In this role, you will be responsible for orchestrating merchandise deliveries, prioritizing the timely processing of products onto the sales floor, and mentoring associates on merchandising and processing principles. You will ensure all merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, communicating regularly with the Coordinator on Duty to facilitate smooth goods flow. Monitoring team productivity, coaching associates, organizing back stock, and upholding merchandise and signage standards are also key components of the position.

Moreover, the role supports the enforcement of recycling and hazardous waste programs, promotes safety within the store environment, and contributes to shrink reduction goals. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating priorities and providing feedback within the team and management. The position also entails promoting credit and loyalty programs as part of the customer engagement strategy.

Candidates should be flexible to work varying schedules, including nights and weekends. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, capable of multitasking, and responsive to changing situations. Being a team player who works well with peers and supervisors, capable of lifting heavy objects, and able to train others are critical qualities for success in this role. Previous retail experience of at least one year, including six months of leadership experience, is required.

Job Duties

  • create a positive internal and external customer experience

  • orchestrate truck delivery prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
  • train and mentor associates on established merchandising and processing principles
  • ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded

  • ensure associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan and prioritize as needed
  • monitor productivity of team and coach as necessary
  • organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment
  • maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards
  • maintain all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
  • ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs
  • communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates when setting and addressing priorities and provide progress updates
  • provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback
  • partner with management on associate training needs to increase effectiveness
