Job Description
Sherwin-Williams is a leading global company specializing in paints, coatings, and related products that enrich and protect the spaces where people live, work, and play. Established with a commitment to innovation and quality, Sherwin-Williams serves both wholesale and retail customers with products designed to inspire and improve the world by coloring and protecting what matters. The company operates numerous retail stores and specialty branches, offering a wide range of solutions for professional contractors, homeowners, and businesses alike. At Sherwin-Williams, the workplace culture emphasizes stability, growth, diversity, and community connection, providing employees with opportunities for personal development, inclusive teamwork, and career progression. Benefits are comprehensive, encompassing health, wellness, retirement, and flexibility to support overall well-being.
This full-time Customer Service Specialist role is essential to the success of Sherwin-Williams retail stores, specifically serving locations within a 10-mile radius of Store #3103, located at 6634 W. North Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI 53213. Starting pay is $18.85 per hour, with adjustments possible based on relevant experience. As a Customer Service Specialist, you will engage directly with wholesale and retail customers, helping them identify their needs and guiding them to the right Sherwin-Williams products and solutions. This position requires a focus on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction by answering questions, resolving concerns promptly, and maintaining up-to-date product knowledge.
The role involves a variety of responsibilities including assisting customers in person and by phone, processing sales transactions, maintaining accurate work order files and product formulas, and supporting store merchandising efforts such as stocking shelves and setting up displays. Specialists may also be required to tint and mix products according to customer specifications, operate electronic equipment, and assist with deliveries and loading or unloading trucks as needed. You will be expected to uphold the high visual and quality standards of the store and to contribute to meeting or exceeding sales goals on monthly, quarterly, and yearly bases.
Since the role involves handling cash, merchandise, and confidential information—and may include working with minors and unsupervised access—Sherwin-Williams conducts criminal history reviews in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws to ensure safety and security for customers, employees, and the community. Sherwin-Williams values diversity and provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without discrimination.
The company supports its employees through a structured hiring process that starts with an online application, followed by a digital video interview, and culminates in an in-store interview. This systematic approach aims to identify candidates who are not only qualified but also aligned with Sherwin-Williams' core values and mission.
Choosing a career with Sherwin-Williams means joining a company dedicated to your growth and well-being, with a supportive environment that encourages learning and development. Whether you are managing customer interactions, engaging in product knowledge, or contributing to sales success, your role is key to building lasting customer relationships and ensuring Sherwin-Williams remains a trusted leader in the paint and coatings industry. This position also offers great potential for those interested in career advancement and growth within a recognized, respected business with a strong commitment to its employees and community.
