This particular role is based at the TJ Maxx store number 0733 located at 3401 S. Louise Ave. in Sioux Falls, SD, offering a part-time opportunity with a starting pay range of $13.00 to $13.50 per hour. The exact pay rate is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, and skills brought by the applicant. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the clean, organized, and welcoming atmosphere of the store, which enhances customer satisfaction and supports the overall operational goals of TJ Maxx.
The role centers around floor care and general cleaning duties such as operating floor scrubbers and buffers, dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning glass and windows. Maintaining all areas of the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms, is essential. Employees in this position are cross-trained to assist in other store areas such as the front end and backroom to ensure smooth store operations and excellent customer service. Adherence to company policies, loss prevention standards, health and safety requirements, and merchandising guidelines is mandatory.
Moreover, this role requires strong organizational skills, physical stamina, and flexibility to work varying schedules to meet business needs. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are critical as employees must work collaboratively with peers and supervisors and respond appropriately to changes in work direction or unexpected situations. Previous retail customer experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Requirements
- Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in retail or cleaning preferred
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as scrubbers and buffers

Job Duties
- Role models established customer experience practices with internal and external customers
- Supports and embodies a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect
- Maintains all floor care cleanliness standards including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer
- Maintains all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store, e.g. Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom and Restrooms
- Adheres to all company policies concerning Health and Safety (includes the refilling of all essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms and Front End)
- Cross-trained in other areas of the store (Backroom, Front End, Sales Floor, etc.)
- Supports and responds to all Front End coverage needs
- Adheres and upholds merchandising philosophy and signage standards
- Initiates and participates in store recovery as needed throughout the day
- Adheres to all operational and loss prevention controls in accordance with company guidelines and policies including shrink reduction
- Communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates
- Adheres to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, including Associate meal and break period policies
- Participates in safety awareness maintains a safe environment
- Other duties as assigned
