Established in 1973 and headquartered in Irving, Texas, Michaels operates over 1,300 stores throughout 49 states and Canada as well as online platforms Michaels.com and Michaels.ca. The company’s mission centers on fueling the joy of creativity and celebration, making it a premier destination for customers who enjoy crafting, DIY projects, and personalized creations. Michaels also owns Artistree, a manufacturer known for custom and specialty framing merchandise, further expanding its expertise in the craft and framing industry.

This particular opening is for a Store Associate position based in the Denver-Colorado Blvd location. This role is crucial in delivering a high-quality shopping experience by providing friendly and efficient customer service, assisting shoppers in finding products, and ensuring a smooth and friendly checkout process. The position involves multiple store-related tasks including truck unloading, stocking, and maintaining organized displays that meet company standards. The Store Associate will also support omnichannel retailing efforts such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS), contributing to seamless multi-channel customer engagement.

Beyond customer interaction, the role involves executing cash handling duties, promoting the company’s rewards program and private label credit card enrollments, and assisting in customer feedback collection through the Voice of Customer survey. The associate will be engaged in maintaining store appearance through merchandise recovery, returns processing, inventory checks, and compliance with shrink and safety programs. Cross training in Custom Framing selling and production is also part of the role, enabling versatile service capabilities to customers.

The work environment is dynamic, requiring the associate to be on their feet for extended periods and capable of lifting and carrying merchandise including heavy boxes and using ladders for high shelves. The store operates in a climate-controlled setting with some exposure to outdoor tasks such as retrieving shopping carts or truck unloading. Shifts include nights, weekends, and early mornings to align with store operational hours.

Applicants must be at least sixteen years old and meet all relevant federal, state, and local legal employment requirements. The hourly pay range for this position is $19.29 to $22.60, which reflects the importance Michaels places on attracting motivated and customer-focused individuals.

Michaels is deeply committed to workplace inclusion and equal opportunity, ensuring reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities are provided. The company fosters a respectful, positive, and supportive team atmosphere where employees can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the organization’s vision and values. Employee wellness is a priority, with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, tuition assistance, and more for both full-time and part-time team members.
