The role of Cashier at DICK'S Sporting Goods is pivotal in delivering an exceptional customer experience. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift 15 to 35 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to work extended periods standing or walking
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for short durations
  • Prior retail or cashier experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Must be able to follow detailed operational procedures and safety guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • Prior retail sales or customer service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of front-end sales processing
  • Ability to operate point of sale (POS) systems efficiently
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
  • Team player with strong decision-making abilities
  • Basic understanding of loss prevention and store policies

Job Duties

  • Greet customers and proactively assist them during their shopping experience
  • Process customer sales transactions and returns according to established front-end procedures
  • Promote company programs including customer loyalty programs, warranty sales, and private label credit card enrollment
  • Adhere to safety, loss prevention policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information
  • Create an inclusive and welcoming store environment for both teammates and customers
  • Support other store departments and perform additional tasks as assigned by management
