The company is known for its broad selection of sporting apparel, equipment, and footwear, catering to everyone from amateur enthusiasts to professional athletes. With a commitment to quality and customer service, DICK'S Sporting Goods has built a team environment where individuals are welcomed, supported, and empowered from their first day on the job.
The role of Team Captain of Off Field Operations at DICK'S Sporting Goods is a pivotal leadership position focused on driving operational excellence within the store. This position involves overseeing inventory, fulfillment, and stockroom execution, ensuring that store processes run efficiently and accurately. As a Team Captain, you will play a critical role in coaching teammates, supporting overall store performance, and contributing to the store's success by maintaining fast, accurate, and athlete-ready operations. This role also provides an opportunity to act as the Head Coach when leading the building alone, handling general store oversight that includes opening and closing procedures, administrative functions, and frontline supervision.
As part of your duties, you will contribute to the development and execution of strategic 30-60-90 day plans for the assigned department(s), focusing on business priorities that align with budgetary and financial goals. You will communicate departmental objectives clearly, assign workloads efficiently, and monitor progress to ensure goals are met while maintaining exceptional athlete experiences. Hiring, onboarding, training, and retaining a strong and motivated team falls under your responsibilities, along with managing performance reviews, providing coaching and feedback, and enforcing compliance with company policies.
DICK'S Sporting Goods offers a targeted pay range between $52,500 and $66,500 based on a 38-hour workweek, combined with a competitive total rewards package that may include incentives, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The company complies with all state paid leave requirements and encourages innovation, authenticity, and fairness in its hiring process. As part of its commitment to a secure recruitment experience, DICK'S requires candidates to adhere to virtual interview standards such as keeping cameras on and prohibiting the use of AI tools during assessments. Overall, joining DICK'S Sporting Goods as a Team Captain of Off Field Operations means becoming part of a dynamic sports team passionate about delivering outstanding athlete experiences and fostering an inclusive, high-performance work environment.
