The Retail Supervisor role at the Nugget Gift Shop is an integral position responsible for managing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the store. This role involves overseeing guest service, supervising staff, merchandising, and maintaining accurate inventory through cycle counts. The supervisor plays a crucial part in ordering and receiving merchandise, using inventory systems like Yellow Dog and Info Genesis point of sale to track stock levels and correct discrepancies. The position requires implementing processes to minimize inventory shrinkage and maintaining visually appealing displays to enhance product placement and overall store cleanliness.
A key aspect of this role is leadership and team development. The Retail Supervisor conducts interviews for prospective retail clerks, facilitates training programs for new hires and ongoing staff education, and provides coaching and counseling to team members to promote performance improvement. Administrative responsibilities may include daily payroll time edits and ensuring accurate paperwork submission to HR. The supervisor must foster a positive work environment and uphold Nugget’s policies, guest service standards, and safety regulations consistently.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in retail management or supervisory position
- Intermediate computer skills for Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook
- Knowledge of Yellow Dog purchasing and inventory system is preferred
- Knowledge of Info Genesis point of sale system is preferred
- Alcohol Awareness Certification
- Effective communication skills in English both verbally and in written form
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Order and receive merchandise for store inventory
- Maintain accurate merchandise counts using the current inventory system
- Locate and correct inventory errors
- Conduct regular cycle counts
- Develop and implement processes to reduce inventory shortage
- Maintain window displays, product placement, and cleanliness of the Gift Shop
- Conduct interviews of prospective Retail Clerk candidates
- Conduct new hire and ongoing training programs with staff
- Perform daily time edits in the payroll system
- Complete team member coaching and counseling with accurate paperwork submission to HR
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop Gift Shop team members
- Administer and track progress of guest service program including suggestive selling, merchandising, and product knowledge
- Maintain regular predictable attendance
- Follow Nugget policies, procedures, and appropriate regulations
- Communicate effectively with Nugget team members and guests
- Perform work in a safe manner maintaining safety for team members and guests
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents promptly
- Maintain a positive and professional image
- Perform other duties as assigned
