Job Description
FedEx Office is a premier retail provider specializing in printing, shipping, and business services. As a part of the FedEx family, FedEx Office operates a network of retail stores designed to meet customer needs such as printing documents, creating marketing materials, and providing shipping solutions. The company is recognized for its commitment to customer service, quality, and innovation, ensuring that clients receive products and services that support their business and personal needs efficiently and reliably. FedEx Office stores are staffed by professionals who are trained to enhance the customer experience through expert consultation, timely service, and quality products. The company offers a work environment that fosters growth, teamwork, and customer centricity, with a focus on operational excellence and employee development.
The Store Assistant Manager role at FedEx Office plays a critical leadership role within the store business unit, primarily focused on delivering a seamless and positive customer experience. This position involves assisting in the supervision and oversight of all team members and business operations. The Assistant Manager ensures that all aspects of the store—including production, retail, self-service, pick-up and delivery, shipping, and quality control processes—are executed smoothly and efficiently. This role also entails taking charge of the store in the absence of the Store Manager, requiring the ability to lead by example and perform all tasks typically carried out by team members.
The position demands not only operational and administrative capabilities but also strong interpersonal skills. The Assistant Manager demonstrates consultative customer service behaviors to foster a friendly and professional atmosphere. They evaluate team members’ productivity and efficiently resolve any customer disputes or complaints to guarantee satisfaction. Additionally, the Assistant Manager creates and maintains a customer-focused environment across all areas of the store, ensuring a clean, professional, and welcoming setting for visitors. Beyond daily operations, this position plays a pivotal role in coaching, developing, and training staff, helping them achieve store goals and uphold company policies and quality standards.
Furthermore, the Assistant Manager collaborates with the Store Lead Consultant and production teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations, oversees shipping services, and manages communication regarding business performance and company initiatives. Attention to detail is vital, especially when it comes to compliance with FedEx Office policies and maintaining controls within the store environment.
This position requires standing for entire shifts, lifting up to 55 pounds, and working in a fast-paced environment where the ability to multitask and maintain focus under pressure is essential. The Assistant Manager must be able to work independently as well as part of a team, consistently supporting the business's operational and customer service excellence.
The role is compensation-based at an hourly rate ranging between $20.00 and $24.00, with work conducted in person at a store location. Joining FedEx Office as a Store Assistant Manager means becoming part of a company committed to quality-driven management, operational excellence, and inclusive, supportive employment practices. FedEx Office is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, offering reasonable accommodations and considering all qualified candidates. This position is ideal for individuals who are motivated by customer service, leadership, and operational success in a dynamic retail environment.
