The role of the Store Assistant Manager at FedEx Office is integral to the smooth operation and success of a store business unit. This position focuses on creating a consistent and positive customer experience by leading and supporting a team responsible for production, retail service, pick-up and delivery, shipping, and quality control processes. As a key leadership role, the Store Assistant Manager assists in supervising all team members, monitoring business operations, and stepping in to manage the store in the absence of the Store Manager. The Assistant Manager is also expected to perform any duties typically required of team members, blending hands-on operational work with leadership and management responsibilities.

The position demands excellent interpersonal and communication skills as it involves resolving customer disputes, coaching team members, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring adherence to company policies and standards. Maintaining a customer-focused environment within the store, including production areas and self-service zones, is a critical part of the job. The Assistant Manager also coordinates training and development initiatives on assigned shifts, adhering to goals and giving constructive feedback to the team.

Operational duties include managing customer flow to improve service efficiency, overseeing shipping services, and ensuring the store's cleanliness and professionalism. Administrative responsibilities encompass scheduling, payroll management, training compliance, inventory control, supply ordering, and closing out the point of sale (POS) system daily. Additionally, the Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager by communicating goals, key performance metrics, customer issues, and company initiatives.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent education, with one or more years of relevant experience and preferably prior supervisory experience. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting up to 55 pounds, and maintaining focus in a fast-paced environment.

This position offers an hourly pay range of $24.40 to $29.89, with compensation determined by factors such as experience, location, and market conditions. Job Duties

  • Demonstrates consultative behaviors to ensure friendly, polite, expert service is delivered to all customers
  • evaluates the efficiency and productivity of team members in creating positive customer experiences
  • resolves customer disputes and complaints to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction
  • creates a customer focused environment in all areas of the store including production, retail, self service, and shipping
  • establishes and manages a process for customer flow to improve service experience and ensure customers needs are met quickly
  • provides training and development of team members on assigned shifts by monitoring goals and providing feedback
  • interviews job applicants and assists Store Manager with hiring
  • coaches, counsels and provides feedback to team members to ensure adherence to company policies and standards
  • maintains communication with Store Lead Consultant and production team to ensure deadlines and quality checks are met
  • oversees shipping related services and activities
  • communicates with Store Manager and team members on goals, performance metrics, customer issues and company initiatives
  • complies with and enforces company policies and procedures
  • assists with payroll review, scheduling, training compliance, daily POS close-out, ordering and inventory controls
  • performs all other administrative duties as needed
