The Barista Lead role at Aramark is a pivotal position designed for an experienced professional who excels at crafting memorable customer experiences and leading a dynamic team. This role is responsible for ensuring timely service and high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting coffee bar, and supporting frontline coffee professionals through training and leadership. As a Barista Lead, you will oversee the preparation and serving of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to established brand standards and recipes, while also managing food items aligned with location quality expectations. Your leadership will extend to coaching and guiding baristas on beverage preparation, cash handling procedures, customer service excellence, and product knowledge, enabling the team to deliver consistent, top-tier service every day. In addition, the Barista Lead may assist with scheduling, delegating tasks, and coordinating daily workflow to maintain operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include transaction processing using register and POS systems, handling cash and credit card payments with accuracy, balancing cash drawers, and adhering strictly to Aramark's cash handling protocols. Maintaining sanitation standards, stocking beverage coolers, grab-and-go items, and service ware are essential duties to keep the service area fully equipped and compliant with food safety policies. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as a successful barista
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Food handling certification as required
  • Ability to follow dress code
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to follow recipes
  • Available to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Capable of lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling as required
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a successful barista required

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs
  • Prepare and serve coffees, teas, specialty beverages per brand standards
  • Prepare and serve food items in line with location standards
  • Train and guide staff members in coffee and food preparation, customer service, cash handling, product knowledge and other processes and procedures
  • Schedule and delegate work assignments to team and coordinate the completion of tasks for the location
  • Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions
  • Count, organize and balance cash drawer, fill out the cashier slip and make deposits
  • Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures
  • Set up and breakdown coffee bar, stations or store including cleaning and sanitizing
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work area
  • Stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware and condiments
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
