Job Description
Kitchen 1883 is a vibrant restaurant that brings people together through a passion for food and exceptional hospitality. As part of the Kroger Family of Companies, Kitchen 1883 emphasizes creating an environment where guests enjoy an outstanding dining and drinking experience, driven by a team that values respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. This dedication to core values helps foster a workplace where team members not only excel professionally but also thrive personally. The restaurant is committed to helping employees grow their careers in the culinary field, offering a supportive atmosphere where enthusiasm for delicious dishes can be shared freely with guests and fellow team members.
The Bartender role at Kitchen 1883 is essential in delivering a seamless drinking experience to guests, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local alcohol laws while providing warm and attentive service. Bartenders are expected to prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to the restaurant's recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and excellence in every drink served. This position requires a keen understanding of responsible alcohol service, including checking identification to prevent underage drinking and monitoring guests to intervene when necessary, all while upholding legal and corporate regulations related to alcohol service.
In addition to drink preparation, bartenders at Kitchen 1883 manage stock and garnishes, ensure cleanliness and sanitation of bar tools and areas, and handle cash accurately for all transactions. Collaborative teamwork, effective communication, and fostering a cooperative work environment are vital aspects of this role. Kitchen 1883 values bartenders who are passionate about customer service and interpersonal engagement, as these skills directly enhance the guest experience.
Employees in this position enjoy flexible scheduling options, including full- and part-time roles, and benefit from paid time off such as holiday and sick pay, dependent on eligibility and length of service. Benefits extend beyond the workplace to support the overall well-being of associates, with comprehensive healthcare options including medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage. Emotional and financial assistance programs are also available, such as free counseling through the Employee Assistance Program and financial coaching through Goldman Sachs Ayco.
Kitchen 1883 is proud to offer career development opportunities, including up to $21,000 in tuition reimbursement through their Continuing Education program, and access to industry-leading training that prepares associates for diverse career pathways. Associates also benefit from valuable discounts on food, travel, technology, and more. The restaurant’s environment is one where people truly matter, and the Bartender role is not just a job but a chance to be part of a team committed to excellence, community, and growth.
