Job Description

Cornbread is a vibrant and customer-focused restaurant that prioritizes creating a welcoming and wholesome dining experience for every guest. Known for its commitment to quality food and exceptional hospitality, Cornbread thrives on delivering not just meals but memorable moments for its customers. The establishment has built a reputation for its friendly staff, tasty menu offerings, and a warm atmosphere that attracts both new and repeat patrons. As a company, Cornbread values kindness, respect, teamwork, and efficiency, encouraging a collaborative environment where every employee plays a critical role in the overall success and guest satisfaction.

The role of a Guest Guru at Cornbread is central to the restaurant's mission to provide outstanding customer service and a positive dining environment. As the first point of contact for all guests, the Guest Guru is responsible for setting the tone of the visit with a warm, enthusiastic welcome, sharing an inviting atmosphere that makes every customer feel valued and appreciated. This position requires a friendly but professional demeanor, the ability to work constructively with a team, and a willingness to adapt in a fast-paced setting. The Guest Guru is expected to demonstrate kindness and respect in all interactions, fostering positive connections with both new visitors and regular customers. They also possess the responsibility to understand the menu comprehensively and to upsell items thoughtfully, adding value to each guest's experience.

In addition to the interpersonal aspect, the role involves operational duties such as accurately processing payments, applying discounts per company standards, and completing required training on time to maintain service quality. Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the restaurant space is equally critical, including following COVID-19 protocols, organizing product shelves, and ensuring that all dining areas, utensils, and condiments are well-maintained throughout each shift. Guest Gurus take pride in their workspace by actively identifying safety hazards or suspicious activities and reporting these matters to restaurant leadership to uphold a secure environment for both guests and staff.

The Guest Guru's performance is integral in maintaining the high standards Cornbread holds for both product quality and customer service. This job not only demands physical stamina, such as the ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods, but also strong communication skills and proficiency with point-of-sale technology. Being trustworthy, reliable, and efficient are key traits expected from every individual in this role. Cornbread offers a vibrant workplace where employees are empowered to lead with kindness, work collaboratively, and contribute to a clean, safe, and delightful dining experience that reflects the brand’s commitment to excellence.
