The Restaurant Team Member position at Panera Bread is a fundamental role that embodies the heart of hospitality by bringing warmth, care, and joy to every guest interaction. This role requires working in various areas within the bakery-cafe, such as Production, Prep, Service, Cashier, Expo, Drive-Thru, Barista, Guest Experience Champion, Quality Control, and more. Restaurant Team Members are responsible for assembling fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches with precision and care, assisting guests in different service areas, and maintaining a clean and safe environment according to food safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • Meet minimum age requirement of 16 or older
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to clearly communicate and understand directions in a loud environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic food safety training including Food Handler’s Card as required by law
  • Enjoy working with food, food service experience preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Execute duties for specific bakery-cafe areas such as production, prep, service, cashier, expo, drive-thru, barista, guest experience champion, and quality control
  • Greet every guest with genuine warmth and enthusiasm
  • Assemble fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches with care, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Assist guests at entry, cashier, and dining areas
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment by following food safety standards and cleaning protocols
  • Stay informed about daily priorities and adapt to changes with a positive attitude
  • Support team success by completing cleaning and stocking duties and helping set up the next shift
