Job Description
Pluckers Wing Bar is a renowned restaurant chain headquartered in Austin, Texas, boasting over 30 locations across the state and expanding rapidly throughout the United States. Known for its high-quality wings and vibrant dining atmosphere, Pluckers has earned remarkable accolades, including being named the Best Restaurant to Work for on four occasions and consistently ranking among the Top 25 Businesses Overall to Work for by the Austin Business Journal. With a strong commitment to employee satisfaction and operational excellence, the company fosters a dynamic work environment that encourages growth, teamwork, and innovation.
The Restaurant Support Specialist role at Pluckers Wing Bar is a unique position that sits at the intersection of restaurant operations and technology. This is not a conventional IT job but rather a specialized operations role designed for individuals who approach restaurant management through a technology lens. The specialist will take ownership of the digital operating layer that supports all 30-plus restaurant locations, ensuring smooth integration and operation of the varied technological platforms that drive daily restaurant functions.
This role demands expertise in Point of Sale (POS) configuration, menu programming, and the management of third-party platform integrations such as online ordering, delivery systems, loyalty programs, scheduling, and inventory platforms. The Restaurant Support Specialist will own the structured release cycle governing how changes move from request to implementation, collaborating closely with departments like Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Ownership. As the single point of contact, the specialist is responsible for maintaining consistency, preventing operational disruptions, and providing clear communication about the impact of technology changes to relevant stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include managing Toast POS settings across all locations, coordinating menu rollouts and limited-time offers with operational and marketing teams, managing vendor relationships for technology platforms, and ensuring thorough post-release validation of all system updates. The Individual must combine an operational mindset with technical capability to quickly learn, troubleshoot, and optimize restaurant technologies.
This position offers a clear career path, progressing from Restaurant Support Specialist to Manager to Director of Restaurant Technology. It comes with a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 annually, depending on experience, and includes an excellent benefits package that supports employee well-being and work-life balance. The role is based in the corporate office in Austin, TX, with required travel to restaurant locations, typically working a Monday through Friday schedule with occasional evening or weekend hours for critical updates or rollouts.
Ideal candidates will have hands-on restaurant experience combined with strong technical skills, particularly familiarity with major POS systems such as Toast, Aloha, Micros, or Square. Effective communication skills and the ability to professionally advocate for operational best practices are essential, as is a disciplined approach to documenting and validating changes. This role is perfectly suited for a restaurant operations professional eager to leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience across multiple sites.
