Job Description
The Marriott at the University of Dayton is an esteemed full-service hotel that provides exceptional dining, lodging, and event services in the Dayton area. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This role is central to maintaining the high standards of our dining and beverage services. The Restaurant Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily operations across all kitchen outlets, including the restaurant, lounge, banquet services, and utility and sanitation teams. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with associates at all levels. Key responsibilities include training team members in food preparation techniques, ensuring proper seasonings, maintaining presentation standards, and upholding cleanliness and sanitation protocols. Supervisory duties extend to writing schedules, evaluating personnel performance, and providing guidance and disciplinary actions when necessary.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a supervisory role within full-service restaurants and a solid understanding of beverage cost management and sequence of service. Experience with point-of-sale systems such as Micros is an advantage. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, a proactive attitude towards problem-solving, and a team-oriented mindset focused on delivering quality service in a timely manner.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior supervisory experience in food and beverage service
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in English
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory role within full-service restaurants
- Knowledge of beverage cost and sequence of service
- Familiarity with Micros POS system is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Hands-on attitude
- Ability to train and lead associates effectively
Job Duties
- Direct the operational efforts and strategies of all kitchen outlets
- Supervise the entire kitchen staff and other associates including restaurant, lounge, banquet, utility, and sanitation teams
- Train all associates on job duties including food preparation, presentation, and sanitation
- Write schedules, evaluate associates, and direct personnel
- Maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
- Write and present disciplinary action as needed
- Provide associates with tools and equipment needed to perform their jobs
- Take immediate action on problems in the kitchen or restaurant
- Participate in weekly staff, food and beverage, and BEO meetings
- Conduct monthly kitchen inventories
- Ensure high quality, properly prepared food is expedited efficiently to all outlets
- Assist in other hotel operation areas as needed
