Job Description

Shake Shack is a leading hospitality brand renowned for its dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a people-first culture. Established initially as a humble hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park by Danny Meyer, founder and CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group, Shake Shack has evolved into a globally recognized restaurant brand committed to quality, community, and hospitality. This transformation from a simple cart to a permanent stand highlights their commitment not only to great food but also to giving back to the community — since inception, all proceeds were donated to local park beautification efforts. Today, Shake Shack continues to cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment where employees, or #ShackFam members, are supported through mentorship, training, and ample growth opportunities to make a meaningful impact within the company and the neighborhoods they serve.

The role offered is that of a Restaurant Manager, a pivotal position responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations and ensuring the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction. This role demands a seasoned professional with 2-3 years of experience in managing high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environments. The Restaurant Manager collaborates closely with the team to train new members across all operational aspects, fostering a culture of excellence and motivation. Leadership here goes beyond simple management; it is about coaching and inspiring team members to deliver superior hospitality consistently. The manager will also play an active role in promoting the brand within the local community, organizing events and encouraging word-of-mouth engagement to enhance the brand’s visibility and reputation. Compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations is critically maintained to protect both the guests and employees.

This position offers more than just operational responsibilities; it provides a platform for personal growth and leadership development within a supportive and fun atmosphere. Shake Shack values flexibility, encouraging managers to work hours conducive to restaurant needs and personal balance. The company provides competitive benefits including weekly pay, performance bonuses, meal discounts, and exclusive corporate discounts on travel, electronics, and wellness services. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options, employer-paid life and disability insurance, a 401k plan with company match, paid time off, parental leave, and access to employee assistance programs from day one. Employees also benefit from pre-tax commuter and parking benefits, along with flexible spending and dependent care accounts.

Shake Shack invites dynamic restaurant leaders who seek to be part of something good—a brand rooted in remarkable hospitality, community involvement, and the empowerment of its people. The organization’s commitment to equal opportunity employment ensures that all qualified applicants are considered without discrimination based on protected characteristics. Joining Shake Shack means becoming part of a mission-driven team dedicated to standing for something good through exceptional food, service, and cultural values.
