Job Description

The Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, formerly known as Hotel Solamar, is a vibrant city-center hotel that brings together the excitement of a metropolitan oasis with the relaxed, carefree atmosphere of the islands. Situated in the heart of San Diego's lively Gaslamp Quarter, just minutes away from key landmarks such as Petco Park and the San Diego Convention Center, this uniquely positioned hotel offers guests a blend of urban convenience and beach-inspired luxury. With 235 stylish guest rooms and a variety of signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts, the hotel delivers a distinctive experience that mirrors the laid-back island lifestyle while providing the amenities expected from a premier downtown destination.

Among the standout features is the LandShark Bar & Grill, a three-meal restaurant that serves up contemporary takes on classic American beach fare. The restaurant's garage-style doors open to the corners of 6th and J Streets, inviting guests to enjoy favorites such as the signature LandShark burger, fish sandwiches, tacos, and fresh salads. Complementing the culinary offerings, live music and views of downtown San Diego create a breezy, beach bar vibe that appeals to both locals and visitors alike. Additionally, 5 o’clock Somewhere is the largest rooftop pool space in downtown San Diego, boasting a hip lounge, dining area, and live entertainment 5 to 7 days a week. This venue features ample seating, including a bar area and poolside chairs, day beds, and cabanas, offering guests a vibrant setting to relax and socialize.

We are actively seeking a passionate and guest-focused Restaurant Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Margaritaville Hotel. The Restaurant Supervisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience by assisting the Restaurant Manager in training and developing staff, overseeing daily restaurant operations, managing personnel, and maintaining superior service standards. This role demands a high level of leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service that aligns with the brand’s reputation.

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in the hospitality industry, including prior supervisory roles, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In this position, you will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, managing inventory and cost controls, and resolving any service issues efficiently while maintaining a positive, energetic atmosphere. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and MICROS POS systems, along with certifications such as TIPS, CPR, and Serve Safe, are highly preferred. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential to support the busy and vibrant environment.

Davidson Hospitality Group, the company behind this opportunity, is a distinguished, award-winning full-service hospitality management enterprise overseeing a portfolio of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues across the United States. Known for its entrepreneurial approach and owners’ mentality, Davidson Hospitality partners with reputable brands including Hilton, Hyatt, Kimpton, Marriott, and Margaritaville. Davidson is structured into specialized operating units that include Davidson Hotels, Pivot, Davidson Resorts, and Davidson Restaurant Group, offering a broad range of expertise to create rewarding experiences for guests and team members alike.
