Job Description

José Andrés Group (JAG) is a renowned hospitality company that operates a diverse collection of restaurants and culinary ventures, each celebrated for exceptional food quality, outstanding service, and innovative dining experiences. With a strong commitment to excellence, JAG emphasizes a culture of hospitality, teamwork, and professionalism while creating environments where both guests and employees feel valued and inspired. As a prominent player in the restaurant industry, José Andrés Group is dedicated to maintaining high standards in operations, food safety, and customer service across all its establishments.

The role of Restaurant Supervisor at José Andrés Group is an hourly, non-exempt position within the Operations - Front of House department, reporting directly to the General Manager. This role is pivotal for ensuring seamless restaurant operations during each assigned shift by leading the front-of-house team through efficient service delivery, maintaining brand standards, and providing gracious hospitality that reflects the values of JAG. The Restaurant Supervisor acts with authority and consistency, managing the floor, coordinating opening and closing procedures, supporting guest recovery efforts, and coaching hourly team members to uphold service excellence.

The Restaurant Supervisor’s duties encompass managing the flow of service, executing pre-shift meetings, handling escalations, and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed precisely to deliver an outstanding guest experience. This role requires the ability to adapt quickly to on-floor challenges, solve problems in real time, and maintain safety and quality throughout all shifts. The Supervisor also oversees essential daily operations and compliance, such as sanitation, responsible alcohol service, allergy protocols, cash handling, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

In addition to operational oversight, the Supervisor plays a critical role in the development and coaching of team members. This includes setting clear performance expectations, providing immediate feedback, supporting training and cross-training initiatives, and fostering a positive and respectful workplace culture. Strong communication across all teams and shifts, coupled with an ability to enforce standards while encouraging continuous improvement, are key aspects of the job.

Furthermore, the Supervisor contributes to financial discipline by managing labor deployment within planned budgets, supporting accurate cash management, monitoring inventory and waste, and alerting leadership to any operational trends or concerns. The position demands physical capabilities such as standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting moderate weights, all performed in a high-energy, fast-paced restaurant environment.

José Andrés Group offers competitive hourly compensation with opportunities for professional growth, including a clear path toward becoming an Assistant General Manager and beyond. Employees may also benefit from health and wellness programs (for eligible roles), employee dining privileges, and partner discounts. This role requires availability during nights, weekends, and holidays, making it suitable for candidates eager to develop their careers in dynamic restaurant operations.
