We are currently seeking a results-driven Restaurant Manager to lead the daily operations at our L&L Hawaiian BBQ branch in Carlsbad. This role demands a highly motivated leader who can independently manage the store's operations while ensuring the highest standards of food quality, customer service, and team performance. The ideal candidate will be experienced in all facets of restaurant management, including financial oversight, staff development, inventory control, and customer experience enhancement. They will be responsible for sustaining operational efficiency through strong systems and accountability measures.

The Restaurant Manager will play a critical role in driving sales growth by executing effective promotional strategies, upselling, and controlling costs such as labor and food expenses. This position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain brand consistency in food presentation and service quality. Overseeing a diverse team — from cashiers to line cooks — the manager will provide hands-on leadership, training, and coaching to foster a positive, productive work environment.

Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and health standards is fundamental to this role. The manager will maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant while managing inventory and supply chain logistics to prevent shortages and waste. They will also be expected to handle customer concerns swiftly and professionally, enhancing guest satisfaction and loyalty.

This is an in-person role based at the Carlsbad L&L Hawaiian BBQ location, offering competitive base salary along with monthly performance bonuses based on achieving sales, labor, and food cost targets. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years experience in restaurant management or assistant management

Job Duties

  • oversee daily store operations including opening, peak hours, and closing
  • ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet brand standards
  • maintain cleanliness and organization across kitchen, dining, and restroom areas
  • enforce food safety and health department compliance
  • train, coach, and supervise staff including cashiers, line cooks, and prep personnel
  • create weekly schedules based on sales volume and labor targets
  • maintain team accountability through standard operating procedures, checklists, and performance tracking
  • handle employee issues, attendance, and disciplinary actions when needed
  • manage labor cost within target ranges of 22 percent to 28 percent
  • control food cost through portioning, inventory management, and waste reduction
  • track daily sales, upselling performance, and average ticket size
  • execute strategies to increase revenue including combos, catering, and promotions
  • manage ordering for food, packaging, and supplies
  • monitor inventory levels to prevent over-ordering or shortages
  • ensure proper storage, rotation using FIFO method, and waste control
  • handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues quickly
  • maintain a positive and welcoming environment
  • ensure fast service and smooth order flow during peak hours
