The current openings are for Restaurant Staff positions within the Hampton Winds restaurant at Northampton Community College. These positions are part-time and include roles such as servers and dishwashers. The restaurant staff plays a vital role in delivering professional and high-quality service to all customers. The servers are responsible for greeting and seating customers with courtesy and professionalism, providing knowledgeable explanations of specials and menu items, taking orders efficiently, and ensuring timely and proper service of food and beverages. Additionally, servers are expected to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain communication with both the front and back of house staff.
This role demands an ability to work in a team-based environment alongside faculty, students, and staff, contributing to the smooth operation of restaurant and catering services. Staff are expected to adhere to established policies and operational procedures, complete necessary side work, and follow opening and closing checklists rigorously. Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a fine dining setting with banquet experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods
- Customer-oriented professional demeanor
- Ability to function independently
- ServSafe certification is a plus

Job Duties
- Greet and seat customers with courtesy and professionalism
- Knowledgeable explanation of specials and menu items for customers
- Taking orders and entering them into the POS system
- Proper service of food and beverages as well as clearing of plates and bussing tables
- Communicating effectively and efficiently with both front and back of house
- Perform in a team-based environment with faculty, students and staff
- Maintain policies and standard operating processes and procedures for restaurant and catering operations
- Complete all side work and opening and closing checklists as required
- Maintain proper food safety standards
- Implement special responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
