Job Description
City Barbeque is a renowned American barbecue restaurant chain dedicated to serving authentic, high-quality barbecue dishes while fostering a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere. Founded on the principles of delivering exceptional food and genuine hospitality, City Barbeque has grown to become a celebrated destination for barbecue lovers across multiple locations. The company prides itself on its commitment to four core values: safety first; treating others with integrity, fairness, and respect; delivering quality without sacrifice; and producing profit and cash flow for long-term value. These guiding principles shape every aspect of the business, from food preparation to customer service and team collaboration.
City Barbeque is currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join its team, particularly in Back of House (BOH) roles such as Prep Cook, Boards (meat carver), Pits (smoker operator), and Dishwasher. These positions are integral to maintaining the high standards of food quality and safety that City Barbeque customers expect. Employees in these roles will work in fast-paced, dynamic environments where teamwork, attention to detail, and a passion for barbecue are essential. The company values individuals who provide outstanding backyard hospitality for guests, work independently yet cooperatively, and have the ability to cross-train and operate multiple stations inside the kitchen.
Working at City Barbeque offers more than just a job; it is an opportunity to be part of a company that values its employees and offers competitive benefits. The restaurant provides numerous advantages such as opportunities for raises twice a year, complimentary barbecue meals worth up to $2,400 per year, and a 25% discount on food purchases when not working. Additional perks include free uniforms, free slip-resistant shoes, vacation pay, 401k matching up to 4% of salary, annual scholarship programs valued at $3,000, flexible scheduling, and medical, dental, and vision insurance available after a 60-day waiting period for those who qualify.
City Barbeque is committed to promoting a positive and productive work environment. Daily tasks for BOH team members include arriving on time and accurately reporting hours, completing hot and cold food preparation tasks with precision and sanitation in mind, collaborating efficiently to prepare take-out and catering orders, following station and cleaning checklists diligently, and maintaining a positive attitude when interacting with coworkers and guests. By embracing these responsibilities, employees contribute to a smooth-running kitchen and a memorable dining experience for customers.
The company supports diversity and equal employment opportunities, participating in the E-Verify program to confirm employment eligibility. Working at City Barbeque means joining a passionate team dedicated not only to great food but also to building a supportive and respectful workplace. Whether you are new to the food service industry or bringing years of experience, City Barbeque offers a rewarding environment where you can grow your career while sharing America’s best BBQ.
