White Lodging is currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the team responsible for the opening and ongoing culinary operations of Yacht Club. This position offers a unique and rare opportunity to contribute to the foundation and growth of a fine-dining restaurant from inception. The Sous Chef will play a crucial role in hiring and developing a high-performing culinary team, establishing a strong culture, and setting standards for excellence in restaurant management within Austin's exciting new luxury hospitality setting.

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing multiple leaders across diverse front-of-house and back-of-house teams in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment
  • strong background in fine dining or upscale restaurant operations, with deep knowledge of wine and food pairings - Sommelier certification preferred but not required
  • experience managing multiple meal periods

Job Duties

  • Lead all aspects of restaurant operations to deliver a seamless, elevated fine dining experience across multiple meal periods
  • recruit, direct, and develop a team of managers and front-of-house associates, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth
  • drive operational performance through consistent execution of systems, processes, and luxury service standards
  • oversee full financial performance - managing budgets, forecasting, P&L, and strategic initiatives to achieve and exceed profitability goals
  • partner closely with the culinary and beverage teams to ensure menu quality, operational flow, and a strong wine and beverage culture
  • champion guest satisfaction and brand reputation through service excellence and swift resolution of all guest concerns
  • collaborate cross-functionally with corporate, marketing, and hotel leadership to align on promotions, activations, and business development goals
