The role of Sous Chef at Boqueria is a critical position integral to the success and smooth operation of the kitchen. The ideal Sous Chef is a passionate and driven culinary professional who is enthusiastic about leading a high-performing back-of-house (BOH) team. This position involves managing both food and labor costs effectively to maximize profitability while ensuring that all standards, including DOH regulations, are meticulously followed. The Sous Chef must possess the culinary expertise necessary to execute dishes to the highest standards and maintain thorough knowledge of food handling practices to ensure the safety and quality of all menu items.
In addition to culinary skills, the Sous Chef will have a strong understanding of the financial implications of operational decisions, including budgeting for product orders and labor scheduling. Effective organization, prioritization, and anticipation skills are crucial in this fast-paced environment.
