The Shift Supervisor role is a vital leadership position at Peter Piper Pizza, focused on ensuring the delivery of high-quality operations standards. This position oversees the daily functioning of the restaurant by supervising team members, certified trainers, team leads, and key holders. Key responsibilities include opening and closing the restaurant, controlling labor costs and food waste to maintain profitability, modeling guest hospitality expectations, and coaching and developing staff. The role demands strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams and create a positive, safe working environment. Shift Supervisors are instrumental in executing company policies and procedures to uphold operational excellence.

Successful candidates for this role are individuals who possess supervisory or training experience, ideally within the restaurant or hospitality sectors, and demonstrate leadership qualities that inspire and develop team members. Basic computer skills are essential to navigate operational software and reporting tools. The position also involves physical activity such as lifting objects up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, kneeling, and working in a fast-paced environment with occasional loud noises and mechanical equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • 6 months of supervisory, lead or training experience preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry or equivalent combination of relevant supervisory, lead or training experience and industry experience
  • Basic computer skills

Job Duties

  • Open and close the restaurant by following the appropriate checklists
  • Ensure the profitability of the restaurant through various means including sales, control of labor costs and food waste
  • Model and reinforce guest hospitality expectations
  • Train, coach and develop team members
  • Ensure all team members adhere to rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all team members and guests
  • Assign daily tasks to team members and follow-up
