The Shift Supervisor role at MOD Pizza is pivotal in bridging the gap between restaurant management and the front-line squad members. This position offers an excellent opportunity to build and hone leadership skills in a dynamic fast-paced environment. As a Shift Supervisor, you will take charge of restaurant operations during your scheduled shifts, ensuring that both guests and team members receive outstanding experiences. Your leadership will be crucial in overseeing the squad, handling day-to-day operational challenges, and promoting a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere.

Compensation for this role is set at $18.50 per hour, plus tips, reflecting the value MOD places on its leaders. In your role, you will lead by example, focusing on optimizing squad deployment to ensure every team member is in the right position performing duties that support smooth service and guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for training new hires and supporting program rollouts and ongoing initiatives within the restaurant. Your contribution helps maintain the integrity of MOD’s operating systems and ensures that safety standards for food preparation and service are consistently met.

You will also play a vital part in managing cash accurately, taking inventory, placing orders, and keeping the restaurant clean and organized. Resolving guest and squad concerns with empathy and professionalism is a key priority, as is maintaining effective communication within the team via email and other internal platforms.

Job Requirements

  • must have a minimum of one year of customer service or restaurant experience
  • must have demonstrated success as a mentor, trainer or informal leader
  • have a proven ability to prioritize and make decisions
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • proven success in following and enforcing processes and standards
  • correcting and coaching in a compassionate manner
  • have the ability to be a calming presence in periods of high volume
  • must obtain a food safety certification and or alcohol beverage certification within 30 days of start date or sooner where required by law
  • should be proficient in written and oral communication
  • have the ability to support restaurant hours working a minimum of 3 shifts and 18 hours per week including peak demand hours

Job Duties

  • ensure the right squad member is in the right place and doing the right work to support guests
  • complete deployment charts and adjust throughout the day
  • train newly hired or promoted squad and support new program rollouts
  • ensure operating systems and equipment are maintained to meet restaurant goals
  • use and reference MOD tools and standards to ensure food safety in back and front of house
  • listen and resolve squad member and guest concerns, escalating as needed
  • manage cash accurately including making change, accessing safe, processing refunds
  • take inventory and place orders as needed
  • adhere to shift checklists and execute requirements timely
  • review and communicate information from internal channels for squad effectiveness
