Job Description

Shake Shack is a renowned hospitality and fast-casual restaurant brand originating from New York City’s Madison Square Park. Founded by Danny Meyer, a respected figure in the hospitality industry and CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group, Shake Shack started as a humble hot dog cart with a strong community focus. The proceeds from the cart were donated towards the beautification of the park, reflecting the company's commitment to giving back. Over time, the success of the cart led to the establishment of permanent stands and the growth of Shake Shack into one of the fastest-growing hospitality brands today. With strong roots in fine dining traditions and an emphasis on high-quality food coupled with exceptional hospitality, Shake Shack fosters a positive and collaborative work environment for its employees. The company prides itself on its core philosophy, embodied in the mantra 'Stand For Something Good,' which represents their dedication to ethical practices, community engagement, and outstanding guest experiences. Shake Shack is an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity and ensuring all candidates are evaluated without discrimination based on race, gender, age, disability, or other protected characteristics.

The role of Shift Manager at Shake Shack is a full-time position that allows an individual to step into a leadership role within a dynamic fast-paced restaurant environment located in Sterling Heights, MI. This role is essential in managing the flow of service during a shift, directing team members to maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, food quality, and operational speed. As a Shift Manager, you will be instrumental in building, leading, and mentoring a high-performing team of hourly staff, ensuring they deliver an outstanding guest experience consistently. This includes hands-on involvement in operational support functions such as purchasing, receiving, and inventory management. The Shift Manager also plays a part in the hiring process by participating in applicant interviews and contributing to employee relations, helping to maintain a positive workplace culture. This position offers numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth through mentorship, comprehensive training programs, and career development support within the expanding Shake Shack family. The company values its employees and offers competitive pay, performance bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, and more. Working at Shake Shack means becoming a part of a vibrant and inclusive community dedicated to excellence in hospitality and making a difference in local neighborhoods.
