Job Description
Shake Shack is a renowned hospitality brand that began its journey as a humble hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park. Founded by Danny Meyer, the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and author of the acclaimed book Setting the Table, the company has grown into a beloved fast-casual dining experience known for its commitment to quality food and exceptional service. Shake Shack’s philosophy revolves around the idea of 'Standing For Something Good,' which means promoting a positive impact not just through its food but also through its people, neighborhoods, and community initiatives. The company prides itself on creating a supportive work environment that fosters growth, inclusivity, and a strong sense of community among its employees, famously known as the #ShackFam.
Located in Santa Monica, California, the Shake Shack at 501 Wilshire Blvd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Manager to join their team. This full-time position offers an hourly rate starting from $24.00 to $28.00, with an additional $2.00 per hour for certain shifts worked after midnight. The Shift Manager role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant during assigned shifts. The position requires an individual who can lead, motivate, and support a team of hourly team members while maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, quality, and speed.
The Shift Manager is tasked with managing the flow of service and overseeing team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience that aligns with Shake Shack’s values. Beyond managing the frontline operations, this role offers opportunities to assist with operational support functions such as purchasing, receiving, and inventory management. Additionally, the Shift Manager participates in recruitment processes through applicant interviews and helps maintain a positive work environment through effective employee relations.
Shake Shack places a strong emphasis on leadership development and continuous learning. As part of the #ShackFam, the Shift Manager will receive hands-on mentorship, comprehensive training, and career advancement opportunities. The role is designed not only to uphold operational excellence but also to foster personal and professional growth within a fun and inclusive atmosphere. It is ideal for individuals with restaurant leadership experience who are passionate about food safety, problem-solving, team building, and delivering memorable guest experiences.
Working at Shake Shack goes beyond just a job; it is a chance to be part of a mission-driven organization committed to doing the right thing for its people and communities. The company offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, performance bonuses, paid time off, and extensive employee discounts to support both the personal and professional lives of its team members. Shake Shack’s commitment to equal employment opportunity ensures that all qualified candidates are welcomed and considered without bias, reinforcing its dedication to diversity and inclusion across all levels of the organization.
